Juan Costain has established extensive experience in leadership positions in financial markets over three decades. Juan’s most recent experience has been at the World Bank, including postings in Indonesia, India, Sierra Leone, Ghana and Nepal working on country program management and private and financial sector operations. During this time, Juan took a two-year leave of absence to act as director of a London-based hedge fund specializing in distressed debt from emerging markets.
Juan’s earlier experience has been in investment banking, serving as a managing director of the Union Bank of Switzerland and head of debt capital markets in Asia. Juan concurrently served as member of the Europe Management Committee and the Global Fixed Income Commitment Committee as well as a director of the Spanish investment bank Benito y Monjardin. Juan holds a Master of Science in economics and a Bachelor of Science in monetary economics from the London School of Economics as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
