CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – July 8, 2024 — XMS Capital Partners LLC (“XMS”), a global, independent financial services firm focused on providing M&A, corporate advisory and asset management services, is pleased to announce the expansion of its UK business with a focus on FinTech and Financial Services.

Spearheading the effort will be Carlos Pinto, who has joined the firm as a Managing Director based in London focusing on providing M&A and capital raising advice to FinTech and Financial Services clients. Mr. Pinto brings over 30 years of international financial services and investment banking experience.

Mr. Pinto was previously Global Head of Corporate Development for the Royal Bank of Canada, responsible for the group’s strategic transactions. Mr. Pinto started his career at Morgan Stanley where he worked in the M&A and Financial Institutions Groups, advising companies on M&A and capital raising transactions. More recently, Mr. Pinto has been an investor in and an advisor to technology and FinTech companies. Mr. Pinto’s arrival follows XMS’ addition of UK-based Senior Advisor, John Crompton. Mr. Crompton has over 35 years of experience in investment banking and capital markets in the U.S., Europe and Asia, with 20 years at Morgan Stanley, followed by senior roles at Merrill Lynch and HSBC where he was Global Head of Equity Capital Markets and Corporate Finance. Mr. Crompton also had three stints at HM Treasury, most recently as Head of Market Investments at UKFI. In recent years, Mr. Crompton has been acting as a non-executive director; investor in FinTech companies; corporate finance advisor; and co-author of a book on government finances.

Additionally, Nicholas Crompton, a Vice President who started the firm’s FinTech practice, is relocating from Chicago to London to support the growth of the business.
